1st day: If you are driving from Barnaul / Gorno-Altaysk to Tungur (750 km by minibus), then your journey will begin along the Chuysky tract. Part of the trip goes along the banks of the largest river in Gorny Altai - Katun, and in a few hours you will find yourself on the Seminsky pass - the highest point of the Chuysky tract (1700 m). Then you ascend to the Yabogansky pass (1500 m). Descending from it, you find yourself in the Ust-Kansk steppe. A small, ornate Kyrlyk pass (1200 m), and you are in the Abai steppe. Along the way, you will have the most beautiful views of the mountains and steppes of Altai Mountains. Having crossed the Gromotukha pass, you again meet the beautiful Katunya and after about an hour of travel through the Uimon Valley, you arrive in the village of Tungur, where we will meet you. Accommodation at the base, dinner, sauna at will, mingling evening, preparation of camping equipment, packing of backpacks.
2nd day: So - START. The active part of our trip begins. 9 am - departure to GAZ-66 (Shishiga) through the Kuzuyak pass (1513 m.) We will reach the Three Birches parking lot. Further along the mountain path, along the Ak-Kem river (translated from Altai "White water") we will make the transition to the place of overnight stay. We set up a camp on one of the meadows. Cooking dinner over the fire. Trek 18 - 20 km
3rd day: We continue along the same mountain path along the Ak-Kem river. We will pass several picturesque streams, go down to the Akkem river, pass several stone kurumniks and pass the Tekelu waterfall (stay away), reach the Ak-Kemsky lake. Today we will see the most picturesque panoramas of the Belukha mountain range. Overnight in tents on the shore of the lake in the established camp. Trek 10-12 km.
4th day: Radial hike to the Yarlu Valley (7-8 km) Yarlu Valley, City of the Sun, Mother of the World, Labyrinth of Destiny. The Jarlu gorge ("Valley of Edelweiss") is famous not only for its unusual landscape, but also for its original combination and variety of colors. In the daytime, the slopes of the valley are painted in light blue, at sunset the surrounding mountains take on soft pink-purple hues. Many esotericists and mediums claim that the strongest energy places are located here. Magnetic mountain, left spur. A beautiful view of the Kara-Turek pass unveiled here.
Day 5: Today the program includes a radial hike to the Chapel of the Archangel Michael - the highest religious building in Russia, dedicated to the memory of the fallen climbers and the Akkem glacier. You will see where the mountain rivers come from, look at the glaciers, and most importantly, you will see stunning views of the Katunsky ridge. Trek 10 - 12 km.
6th day: Radialka Valley of Seven Lakes
The Valley of Seven Lakes is a so-called hanging valley under the Ak-Oyuk peak (3670 m), where a large number of small picturesque lakes and waterfalls are concentrated. Seven different shades, which are formed from the rocks that make up the bottom, which are different in each lake. The valley offers a magnificent view of the Belukha mountain range. Trek 6-7 km.
7th day: The Lake of Mountain Spirits is located at an altitude of 2500 meters in the southeastern branch of the Kara-Oyuk hanging valley ("kara" - black, "oyuk" - valley). High on the slope is a waterfall that feeds the lake. This place is sacred for the Altaians, according to some esoteric sources, there is a portal to other Worlds. It is recommended to keep complete silence, the lake is incredibly beautiful. Walking 8-9 km.
In the evening, a farewell bonfire at the feet of Belukha - we share our impressions.
8th day: hike to the trail to Three Birches, overnight on the Akkem river in the meadow "U Rurya" Trek 15 - 18 km.
9th day: Exit to the parking lot "Three Birches", transfer through the Kazuyak pass to GAZ-66 to Tungur to the base. Bathhouse, dinner. Recreation!
10th day: Departure to Gorno-Altaysk / Barnaul. On the way: Roerich Museum, House of Old Believers, souvenirs and Altai products
